Team Expectations
All practices and meets are mandatory. If you miss a practice or a meet, you will NOT be allowed to participate in the following meet. If there is an away meet, students who are ineligble for participation will not travel with the team. All team members must represent their school and community with a great sense of pride. Any student/athlete that misbehaves in the classroom, community, track meets, or other school events will be suspended from particpation at the coaches' discretion. Track team members WILL behave at all track meets and will support their teammates during the events. Any horseplay, disrespectful & shameful behaviors, or improper representation of Collinsville Middle School will not be tolerated. Show up, work hard, be humble, stay positive, and do not be satisfied! We as coaches will do our best in making you a better student/athlete. Our goal is to win a TEAM State Championship. Everybody counts and must do their part to make this happen. YOU ARE ACCOUNTABLE FOR YOUR ACTIONS.
Student/Athlete Expectations

2. Student/athletes must conduct themselves in a manner which brings credit to themselves, the school, and
the community;
3. Work to promote the development of self-discipline and high academic/athletic expectations;
4. Set long-term goals and commitment levels that will continue in high school.

Parent/Guardian Expectations
A. Typical concerns of parents that are appropriate to discuss with a coach are:
1. Any unhealthy mental or physical strain you detect in your child at home (especially when it affects his/her academic performance).
2. How you can contribute to your child’s skill improvement and development.
3. Any dramatic changes you detect in your child’s behavior.
B. It is INAPPROPRIATE to discuss with a coach:
1. Event placements/decisions.
2. Team strategy or coaching decisions.
3. Other student/athletes.
C. If you have a concern to discuss with a coach, what procedure should you follow?
1. Make an appointment with the coaches. Never approach the coach after a game unless the coach requests this.
2. If the coaches cannot be reached, please schedule a meeting with the school athletic director.
3. Please DO NOT attempt to confront a coach before, during, or following a meet or practice. This can be a busy and an emotional time for both the
parents and coaches, and this period does not promote objective analysis of the situation.
